Self-Regulation

Defined: Students need to know when to use knowledge, how to adapt it to new situations, and how to monitor and manage their own learning. Students use performance assessment with actual "real-life" problems and issues.  (McMillan).

Activity: Students study the Flint Water Crisis: A Project-Based Unit. The learning goals of the unit were that students would learn about human rights and make the connections between human rights and the study of the Flint Water Crisis (Kolb).

Tech Tools Integrated: Piktochart, Google Hangouts, YouTube, and Google Docs

The Flint third-grade students collaborated using both analog and technology to produce a Piktochart about the impact of the water crisis in Flint, Michigan (Kolb).
